Street furniture is an essential element in a community especially in areas that have heavy human and car traffic. They are primarily used to control the traffic. Some of them even have information that can be used by the public for parking.

Bollards usually made from concrete are the most common and they are used to ensure that cars do not overtake each other. Steel bollards can also be used for this purpose and they are usually permanent. The steel and concrete bollards are usually brightly colored and they reflect the light from the cars to make sure that the drivers can clearly see them when they are driving. If the bollards are not painted using reflector colors, they pose a high risk and they can cause accidents.

There is some street furniture that is temporary like the bollards that are used to control pedestrian traffic. These types of furnishings are usually used on certain parts of the road to make them safe for pedestrian use.
